The Castle Schenna, was built around 1350 at Margarete Maultasch's time by Petermann. Erzherzog Johann bought the castle in 1845 and left it to his survivors, the Earl of Meran; where he and his family still lives. Open throughout the year from March 21st till November 5th.
The mausoleum was built between 1860 and 1869 according to the plan of the Viennese architecture: Prof. Moritz Wappler. It was meant to serve as mausoleum for the Austrian archduke Johann and his family. It's one of the earliest and best obtained sacral buildings of the new-gothic style. The building was constructed by using red sand stone and granite from the Ifinger area. In the vault with the arch lays the sarcophagus belonging to the earl Johann and his spouse.

Open daily for visitors from 10 am till 11:30 am and 3pm till 4:30 pm except Saturdays and Sundays.
